Investigation Launched into Fatal Gas Incident at Vedanta ESL Steel Plant

Following the tragic gas leak at Vedanta's ESL steel plant in Bokaro, law enforcement agencies have opened a case to determine the root cause of the incident. The investigation involves the local police, the labour department, and safety inspectors.

Both deceased workers were on duty at Blast Furnace‑1 when a sudden release of toxic gas occurred. The plant's management has confirmed that the leak has now been sealed, but they have not disclosed technical details about why it happened.

Investigators are collecting evidence, interviewing eyewitnesses, and reviewing maintenance logs to establish accountability and prevent future occurrences.
