Jharkhand Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari has found himself in the spotlight again, this time due to a video of his son, Krish Ansari, purportedly inspecting a hospital. The video has drawn sharp criticism from the BJP, who accuse the minister of delegating his powers to his son. The video shows Krish Ansari at a hospital, with audio of him being introduced as “the minister’s son.” The video was later removed. Senior BJP leader and former state minister Bhanu Pratap Shahi commented, questioning whether Irfan Ansari had given his son the powers of a minister. Following the political uproar, Dr. Irfan Ansari has come to his son’s defense, stating that the accusations against Krish are baseless and malicious. He clarified that Krish’s visit to RIMS hospital was not for inspection or political reasons but to see the father of his teacher, Aditya Kumar Jha, who was admitted there. Irfan further explained that Krish went to help after a few tribal families came to their residence seeking assistance regarding the treatment of their relatives at RIMS. He added that Krish, motivated by humanity and sensitivity, provided whatever help he could. Dr. Ansari also criticized the distortion and politicization of the event. He emphasized that Krish is a well-educated, sensitive, and promising student, currently in Ranchi for the holidays. He also highlighted Krish’s lineage as the grandson of former MP Furkan Ansari, who played a key role in the Jharkhand statehood movement. Irfan concluded by criticizing the BJP, stating that his son doesn’t run over farmers, urinate on people, or forget humanity in the intoxication of power. Instead, he merely saw a sick person and offered assistance.
