Concerns are mounting in Jamshedpur over the escalating problem of stray animals. The Anti Corruption Foundation of World has urged district authorities to take decisive action. A delegation, led by Jharkhand State General Secretary Shashi Acharya, met with Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyrathi on Monday to present a detailed memorandum outlining their demands. The city’s streets, intersections, and residential areas are becoming increasingly unsafe due to the proliferation of stray dogs, bulls, and other cattle. Recent attacks by wild bulls have injured several women, while incidents of stray dog bites are becoming commonplace, fueling public fear and anger. The organization is calling for immediate measures to control animals roaming freely on roads and relocate them to secure environments. They advocate for expediting the construction of permanent shelter homes, revitalizing sterilization programs for stray dogs, and moving them from crowded areas to controlled zones. The foundation emphasizes the need for swift and stringent actions by the administration to enhance public safety and reduce accidents and attacks on roadways. Leaders warned that if these public interest demands are not addressed promptly, the organization will resort to protests, holding administrative officials responsible for any delays.
