The Jamua Community Health Center in Giridih district faces significant operational challenges, highlighting systemic issues in local healthcare. While the facility already struggles with a shortage of MBBS doctors, relying heavily on Community Health Officers (CHOs) for medical services, further disruption has occurred. On Thursday, December 4th, the laboratory services were significantly impacted. Although three lab technicians are reportedly on the roster, only two were present. The unexplained absence of one technician, Nishant Kumar, raises serious concerns about accountability and adherence to procedures. Medical Officer Dr. Kuldeep Tirkey confirmed Nishant Kumar’s absence, noting that the technician reportedly left without prior notification or approval, according to reliable sources. This situation starkly contrasts with the Jharkhand government’s pronouncements on improving health and education services. The lack of essential personnel, coupled with existing deficiencies in doctors and medicines, paints a grim picture of healthcare delivery at the Jamua Community Health Center, despite its substantial infrastructure.
