Rainfall Deficit Hits 18 Jharkhand Districts, Up to 62% Below Normal

Data released by the state’s meteorological agency shows that 18 districts recorded rainfall 40 % to 62 % below normal levels during the current monsoon period. The most affected districts include Chatra, Garhwa, Giridih, Palamu, Kodarma and Hazaribagh.
The cumulative deficit of 151.8 mm translates to a 27 % reduction compared with the expected 559.8 mm. Such a shortfall can impact agricultural output and water resource planning across the region.
