Jharkhand’s Leader of Opposition and BJP State President, Babulal Marandi, has penned a letter to Chief Minister Hemant Soren, urging immediate action against stone mafia kingpin Satyanath Sah. The letter highlights alleged illegal stone mining activities in the Borio block of Sahibganj district. Marandi asserts that Sah, despite holding a mining lease for only four acres, has illegally extracted stones from an estimated 20 acres of land. An inquiry, ordered by the Sahibganj Deputy Commissioner, has reportedly confirmed these illegal operations. The BJP leader further claims that this illicit quarrying has resulted in a staggering revenue loss of approximately ₹200 crore to the Jharkhand government. Marandi’s missive calls for stringent legal action against Sah, recovery of the lost revenue, and immediate cessation of all illegal mining. He also implored the Chief Minister to take necessary measures to protect the informant from any potential harm to life and property.
