In East Singhbhum, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, accompanied by his wife and MLA Kalpana Soren, visited the residence of the late Ramdas Soren in Ghodabandha, Jamshedpur, on Wednesday. They paid their respects by garlanding a photograph of the deceased. Following the tribute, Chief Minister Soren met with the bereaved family members to offer his condolences. He prayed for the peace of the departed soul and for strength for the grieving family to bear their loss. The Chief Minister expressed that the passing of Ramdas Soren within a fortnight of the demise of Dishom Guru and his father, Shibu Soren, was unbearable. He described the loss as an irreparable one for the state and for him personally, a void that could not be filled. He added that Ramdas Soren had carved a unique identity for himself through struggle and significantly contributed to the movement for a separate Jharkhand under the leadership of Dishom Guru Shibu Soren. He was known for his simple and amiable nature, and his deep social commitment as an activist. He always stood by the common people to address their sorrows and problems. Even though he is no longer with us, his personality and work will always inspire everyone. The Chief Minister also highlighted Ramdas Soren’s commendable work as the former Education Minister, including his initiatives for quality education in government schools and strengthening infrastructure. He particularly emphasized his focus on the holistic development of underprivileged children in rural areas. Ramdas Soren, the former Education Minister of Jharkhand, passed away on August 15th in Apollo Hospital, New Delhi, during treatment.
