A serious accusation has been leveled against the Jharkhand state government by BJP State President and Leader of Opposition, Babulal Marandi. Marandi alleges that the government is now creating new crimes to conceal existing ones, a practice he describes as a disturbing habit of the administration and its systems. Recent Enforcement Directorate (ED) actions in the coal underworld of Dhanbad have unearthed startling evidence. More alarmingly, top police officials, allegedly enriched by illicit coal earnings, are reportedly tasking coal mafia operatives with eliminating their own lower-level associates permanently. This sinister plan aims to prevent crucial information from reaching the ED during their ongoing investigations. Marandi further warned that fabricated encounters, disguised as apprehending criminals, have a history in the state. He referenced a past Director General of Police (DGP) who faced allegations of orchestrating contract killings and widespread corruption, even from within the ruling party. The opposition leader urged the ED to exercise extreme caution, stating that in Jharkhand, it’s those who suppress truth, not those who speak it, who hold power. When power, the system, and organized crime align, the suppression of justice becomes a mere formality.
