Jharkhand’s Health Minister, Dr. Irfan Ansari, received a death threat via mobile phone late Thursday night from an unidentified person. The caller threatened to eliminate the minister within 24 hours. The shocking incident has prompted a swift response from the police department. Dr. Ansari immediately informed the Superintendent of Police, leading to an urgent investigation into the matter. The police are currently tracing the mobile number from which the threatening call originated.
The threatening message stated, ‘Listen carefully, we will eliminate you within 24 hours.’ The threat was made on July 3rd late at night. The individual also used abusive language. Upon receiving the call, Dr. Irfan Ansari promptly informed the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Ranchi, Chandan Kumar Sinha. The police initiated immediate action considering the gravity of the situation. The mobile number of the person who made the threat has also been identified, and Ranchi police are investigating based on that. Efforts are underway to identify the perpetrator.
Currently, Dr. Irfan Ansari is in Delhi. He traveled there after learning about the illness of Hafizul Ansari, the state’s Minister of Minority Welfare. During his time in Delhi, the caller threatened Dr. Irfan Ansari and used abusive language. The threat was made from the mobile number 7903928578, and the police are working to identify the owner of the number and apprehend the individual. Dr. Irfan Ansari is a three-time MLA from the Jamtara assembly seat in Jharkhand, representing the Congress party. He is a minister in the Hemant Soren government for the second time. He previously served as the Rural Development Minister. Currently, he holds the portfolios of Health, Food Supply, and Disaster Management. Dr. Irfan Ansari is often in the news for his statements and has once again come into the spotlight, this time due to a death threat.
