A Jharkhand MLA staged a sit-in protest outside the State Assembly on Friday, demanding immediate disbursement of pending post-matric scholarships for tribal, Dalit, and backward class students. Nirmal Mahto, the central general secretary of AJSU Party and MLA from Mandu, highlighted the ongoing struggle by the AJSU student wing to secure these vital educational funds. He noted that a memorandum was also submitted to the Governor just yesterday, underscoring the urgency of the situation. For two years, students from marginalized communities have been left without scholarship payments, a delay the government has seemingly ignored. Many students from poor farming and labor families are struggling to fund their education through part-time jobs, severely impacting their academic progress. Mahto criticized the current Hemant government, suggesting they are facing significant challenges in even mobilizing funds for their own welfare schemes, indicating a serious financial crisis within the state. This financial strain is directly hindering the educational prospects of numerous deserving students.
