A significant plot by CPI (Maoist) insurgents was foiled in Jharkhand today. Security forces recovered 18 IED bombs during a search operation conducted in the forests. Each bomb weighed approximately three kilograms. The bombs were safely defused at the site by a bomb disposal squad.
The operation took place near the border of West Singhbhum and Khunti districts, specifically near Kochang in the Arki police station area. The search operation was initiated based on a tip-off received by the Superintendent of Police of West Singhbhum on July 8th, indicating that the banned CPI (Maoist) had hidden explosives in the bordering areas of West Singhbhum and Khunti districts to harm security forces. The operation involved the Chaibasa Police, Khunti Police, Jharkhand Jaguar, and CRPF teams. Top Maoist leaders, including Misir Besra, Anmol, and others, are reportedly active in the Saranda/Kolhan region, leading to the continuous deployment of joint operation teams by the Chaibasa Police, COBRA, CRPF, and Jharkhand Jaguar.
