A harrowing incident of gang rape involving a minor girl has come to light in the Gumla district of Jharkhand. Three individuals abducted a minor girl in the Sadar police station area, subjected her to gang rape in a secluded location, and then abandoned her in a forest after threatening her life. The girl managed to reach her home and informed her family about the horrific ordeal. The family immediately reported the incident to the Gumla police station. The police conducted a medical examination of the victim and registered a case under the POCSO Act and other relevant sections. A special team, led by Sadar SDPO Suresh Prasad Yadav, was formed on the instructions of Gumla SP, and they swiftly apprehended all three accused – Anup Oraon, Pankaj Oraon, and Balram Mahto. All three reside within the Sadar police station area of Gumla. The police have also seized a scooter used in the crime. The incident has sparked outrage among the villagers, who are demanding the strictest possible punishment for the perpetrators to deter similar acts in the future.
