Jharkhand Trafficking Racket: Girl Sold for ₹20,000 Escapes
A disturbing case of human trafficking from Jharkhand's Gumla district has raised serious concerns about the safety of minors. A 15-year-old girl, who was promised employment, was reportedly sold for ₹20,000 and forced to endure months of abuse. The case is linked to the Bishunpur police station area. Authorities say the girl was first deceived by a local woman. As per the written complaint, the woman took the girl to Delhi in July. There, she was allegedly handed over to a trafficker who transported her to Rajasthan. After the sale, the girl was kept at an elderly man's residence for about three months. She alleges that she was confined and exploited. Despite the terror, she managed to flee when an opportunity arose. Her journey back took her through Delhi and Ranchi, finally reaching Gumla. Police have registered the case and started an investigation into the trafficking network.
