How Voter Claims and Objections Will Be Handled in Jharkhand

The Jharkhand Election Commission has set a clear roadmap for processing voter claims and objections after the draft electoral roll is released on 5 August. The claim‑objection window, spanning from 5 August to 4 September, will allow citizens to raise issues regarding their inclusion, exclusion or incorrect details.

During this period, applicants must submit supporting documents such as birth certificates, passports, school certificates, permanent residence proofs, caste certificates, forest‑right certificates, land or housing allotment records, government IDs, pension payment orders and any other documents recognized by the Commission. The previously published special intensive revision roll will also serve as a reference document.

All received applications will be examined by EROs and AEROs in accordance with the Election Commission's guidelines. Notices will be issued for any discrepancies, and voters will be given a chance to rectify them before a final decision is rendered.
