In a significant political development, the son of Jharkhand’s Labor and Industry Minister Sanjay Yadav, Rajnish Yadav, has secured the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) ticket for the Kahalgaon constituency. However, his path to victory is fraught with challenges as he faces a multi-cornered contest. The primary hurdle is the internal conflict within the Mahagathbandhan, with the Congress party fielding its own candidate, Praveen Kushwaha, from Kahalgaon.
The Congress asserts its traditional claim over the seat, citing the legacy of veteran leader Sadanand Singh, who previously held it for years. Despite pressure from the RJD to withdraw, Congress leaders, including Pappu Yadav, are actively campaigning for Kushwaha, underscoring their unwillingness to cede the constituency.
