Karama Festival Greetings from State Governor, Chief Minister and Opposition

Ranchi – In a coordinated outreach on X, Governor Santosh Gangwar, Chief Minister Hemant Soren and opposition leader Baboolal Marandi conveyed their best wishes to the people of Jharkhand on the auspicious Karama festival. The governor described Karama as a day that unites nature, culture and community, and prayed that it brings lasting happiness, tranquility and wealth to every home.

The chief minister’s statement underlined the festival’s role in reinforcing the immutable love between brothers and sisters. He recalled the traditional acts of planting the Karama stick, striking the mandr drum, singing regional hymns and partaking in collective dances, all of which embody Jharkhand’s living folklore. Soren urged citizens to honor and protect the water bodies, forests and terrain that form the backbone of their ancestry.

Opposition figure Baboolal Marandi echoed these sentiments, labeling Karama as the heart‑beat of tribal‑folk culture. He offered sincere congratulations and hoped the celebration would foster social cohesion, mutual goodwill and an enduring reverence for the environment.
