Authorities in Khunti have made significant progress in a violent case, arresting two individuals suspected of a life-threatening attack on a local businessman. The victim, Shafiq Mian of Padampur, was critically injured in a shooting incident on October 13th near the Akhara Maidan in Chhata village, under the jurisdiction of Karra police station.
The Khunti police, acting on a special team directive from Superintendent of Police Manish Tappo, swiftly apprehended the accused. The arrested suspects have been identified as Shahid Mian, a resident of Baraik Toli in Karra, and Modasir Ahmad alias Mo Raja Khan, from Haider Complex in Khunti.
During interrogation, both suspects reportedly confessed to their involvement in the brutal assault. The motive behind the attack appears to stem from a long-standing dispute between Shafiq Mian and Shahid Mian over setting up a cosmetics stall (‘manihari dukaan’) in the Rola Guttu village market.
Acting on the information provided by the apprehended individuals, law enforcement officials successfully recovered a scooty believed to have been used in the crime, along with two live cartridges. The investigation and subsequent arrests highlight the rapid response and dedication of the Khunti police force in bringing perpetrators to justice.
