Khunti Police have dealt a significant blow to the People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI), a banned organization in Jharkhand, by arresting four members. The arrests were made with the recovery of weapons and ammunition. The apprehended militants have been identified as Pawan Lohra from Manhu village, Vicky Lohra and Arjun Lohra (also known as Ishwar or Pecha) from Jamuadag, and Arpit Kerketta from Birhu village. The arrests took place near a government school in Birhu Uraon Toli. Authorities seized a pistol, eight bullets, two loaded magazines, a knife, a motorcycle, and a scooter. SP Manish Toppo announced the arrests in a press conference, stating that the suspects were gathered with weapons, allegedly planning an act. The four individuals have been sent to judicial custody. The team that made the arrests included Khunti Police Station in-charge Mohan Kumar and other officers. The arrested individuals were reportedly using the Signal mobile app to communicate with PLFI members and receive instructions, facilitating extortion and spreading fear. The suspects also confessed to various crimes, including firing outside a business establishment on the Ranchi-Khunti road and firing at a land dealer’s house.
