The Koderma Bengali Association hosted a vibrant Bijoya Sammelan, a joyous post-Durga Puja celebration, at Ravindra Bhawan on Sunday evening. The event, held at Adi Bangla Road, saw association President Dr. Omyo Biswas extend warm Vijoya greetings to the community. Secretary Uttam Chatterjee outlined the program’s details in his address. The festivities commenced with the ceremonial garlanding of Rabindranath Tagore’s statue by the office bearers. A melodious welcome song, directed by retired teacher Sunil Debnath and performed by a talented group including Tapati Chakraborty, Mousumi Biswas, Priya Banerjee, Dr. Sangeeta Prasad, Soma Pal, Mili Mitra, Arup Mitra, Vipul Gupta, and Sujit Biswas, set a celebratory tone. The musical accompaniment featured Tabla performances by Vikas Thapa and Adrijya Biswas. For approximately three hours, the program showcased the exceptional talents of the community’s children, who delivered captivating song and dance performances. Notable acts included Antar Ghosh’s rendition of ‘Durga Elo Durga Elo,’ Ahana Banerjee’s ‘Aaye Giri Nandini,’ and enchanting dances by Antara Mukherjee, Priyanka Das Pal, Prakriti Ghosh, Anushree Vaidya, Archy Das, Rajsi Das, and Adrija Biswas, which garnered widespread applause. Abhinandan Roy’s singing was also highly appreciated. The audience was particularly enthralled by the energetic dance performance of young Doel Tandon to the tunes of ‘Kine De Reshmi Churi, Naile Jabo Baper Bari.’ A highlight of the evening was Luna Mitra’s soul-stirring Rabindra Sangeet performance on the guitar, enjoyed by all. Indrani Mukherjee and Tapati Chakraborty also presented delightful songs. The event was expertly compered by Sandip Mukherjee and Sulagna Roy. The gathering was graced by the presence of hundreds of community members, including Kalyan Banerjee, Kalyan Majumdar, Dasharathi Banerjee, Sudhanya Ghosh, Alok Sarkar, Sameeran Biswas, Juhi Dasgupta, Sapan Dey, Tapas Dey, Pintu Majumdar, and Dilip Majumdar. Anoop Sarkar delivered the vote of thanks.
