Blue Drum, Snake Case Followed: Koderma Injection Murder Shocks
Following the Meerut blue drum and snake cases, another disturbing crime has surfaced in Koderma, Jharkhand. Police have solved a blind murder case and arrested a woman and her lover for killing her husband with a poisonous injection. The lover was reportedly a quack doctor and a close friend of the victim.
The deceased, Naresh Thakur, was from Chaparan in Hazaribagh. Police said the accused, Sunil Thakur, frequented Naresh's home, where he began an illicit relationship with Naresh's wife, Kiran Devi, in 2019. When Naresh found out about the affair and objected strongly, the couple allegedly began planning to remove him from their lives.
On October 10, the plan was executed. Kiran Devi reportedly informed Sunil that her husband was unwell and was heading to Kolkata from Koderma railway station. Sunil collected Naresh from the station, offering to treat him, and took him on his motorcycle to a clinic in Navalshahi. Police allege that Sunil injected Naresh with toxic pesticide, causing his death.
To hide the crime, the body was tied in a plastic sack and dumped at night in a closed stone quarry near Lakrahi pond. Kiran Devi then filed a missing person report with the local police station, presenting herself as a concerned wife.
The truth emerged when an unknown body was found in a sack in a closed mine within the Navalshahi police station area on October 17. Koderma SP Kumar Shivashish registered case number 69/26 and formed a Special Investigation Team. The team relied on surveillance, technical evidence, and human intelligence to identify the victim as Naresh Thakur. Investigators then examined Kiran Devi's call records and activities, which revealed her relationship with Sunil. Both accused confessed under questioning and have been sent to jail.
