In Koderma, a vital medico-legal awareness camp, coupled with a medical check-up, was organized for senior citizens residing at the Jhumritilaiya Old Age Home. This initiative was conducted under the guidance of the Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority, Ranchi, and organized by the District Legal Services Authority, Koderma. The event provided a crucial platform for elderly residents to receive essential legal information and healthcare services. During the program, attendees virtually witnessed an online ceremony from Ranchi, where the executive chairman of the Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority inaugurated the Mother Teresa Clinic at the Nagri Old Age Home and distributed benefits, including medical facilities, to its residents. The Principal District and Sessions Judge, who also chairs the District Legal Services Authority, emphasized the moral obligation of all citizens to respect the elderly. He assured that the District Legal Services Authority is committed to safeguarding the rights of senior citizens and preventing any infringement of their fundamental rights. The judge further highlighted that true progress is unattainable without respecting elders, expressing pride in the authority’s efforts to honor them. He urged the younger generation to learn from the wisdom of their elders, show them respect, and be attentive to their needs. The Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority reiterated the authority’s dedication to providing free legal services to the elderly, ensuring their rights are protected. He pledged full support to enhance the comfort and well-being of residents in the old age home. Health officials from Koderma conducted comprehensive medical examinations for all senior citizens present. The Principal District Judge instructed the attending medical staff to ensure regular health monitoring and provide necessary medications. He personally met with the elderly residents, inquired about their well-being, and inspected the facilities. Additionally, a joint effort by the District Legal Services Authority and the District Administration distributed essential items, including blankets, shawls, caps, woolen clothing, sweets, and other necessities, to the residents.
