Kuldeep Dwivedi, a highly regarded Indian Police Service (IPS) officer from the Jharkhand cadre, has been appointed as a Joint Director in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). An official notification regarding this appointment was issued on Tuesday by the Department of Personnel and Training. Dwivedi, who is an IPS officer, will serve as Joint Director in the CBI. His tenure will last until January 17, 2026, or until further notice, completing a five-year deputation period.
In a related development, C. Venkata Subba Reddy, an IPS officer from the Assam-Meghalaya cadre (2007 batch), currently serving as DIG, CBI, has also been appointed as a Joint Director in the CBI. Reddy’s term will extend until October 29, 2029, or until the completion of his five-year deputation, or until further orders. According to the notification from the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointments of both senior IPS officers as Joint Directors in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
