A devastating fire erupted late Sunday night in the Govindpur police station area of East Singhbhum, specifically at the Ghodabandha Ola Service Center, sending shockwaves through the community. The incident began when smoke was observed billowing from a car parked outside the service center. Within moments, the flames intensified rapidly, engulfing several other vehicles parked nearby in a terrifying inferno. Residents were forced to flee their homes as the blaze raged, prompting immediate attempts by locals to combat the fire. Emergency services, including fire brigades and police, were dispatched to the scene and worked tirelessly throughout the night to bring the situation under control. Thankfully, after considerable effort, the fire was eventually extinguished. The aftermath of the incident has sparked significant outrage among local residents. Many are accusing the Ola Service Center owner, Tapas Das, of illegally using forest department land and roadside space for parking, allegedly in collusion with the company. Repeated complaints to the forest department and administration have reportedly gone unanswered, leading to public frustration. Residents also highlighted the perilous proximity of a power transformer to the parking area, emphasizing that had the fire spread, a catastrophic explosion and widespread loss of life could have occurred.
