A shocking incident of gang rape has been reported in Dumka district of Jharkhand. Five individuals have been arrested for the brutal gang rape of a minor girl from the Paharia tribe. The incident occurred when the victim had gone to meet her boyfriend, who works as a cleaner on a truck. Upon arriving in the Kathikund area, the girl and her boyfriend were confronted by five men on the Gumra bridge. The men questioned their presence, then assaulted the girl, and gang-raped her in front of her boyfriend after assaulting him.
Authorities were informed, leading to the immediate arrest of the five perpetrators. They have been charged under the POCSO Act and other serious sections of the law. The police are conducting a thorough investigation, and the victim has been sent for medical examination. This incident brings to light a similar case that took place in March 2024 in the Hansdiha police station area of Dumka district, where a Spanish woman on a world tour by motorcycle was also gang-raped. Eight suspects were arrested in that case, which caused widespread outrage across the country.
