A tragic incident occurred on Kanke Road in Ranchi, Jharkhand, where a speeding truck fatally struck a mother and her daughter who were on a scooter. The accident resulted in the immediate deaths of both the mother and her young daughter. Following the incident, local residents gathered at the scene, placing the bodies on the road and using bamboo poles to block traffic in protest. The crowd expressed their outrage and initiated a demonstration. Upon receiving information about the incident, police from the Sakanake police station and additional officers arrived at the location and began attempting to manage the crowd. The mother worked as a nurse at RIMS hospital in Ranchi. The mother was on her way to drop her daughter off at school when the accident occurred near the Joda bridge on Kanke Road. The truck, carrying a load of cement, collided with them. The police are working to control the situation, restore order, and normalize traffic flow on Kanke Road. Negotiations are underway with the protesting individuals. The police have assured that strict action will be taken against the truck driver. This incident follows another recent accident in Ranchi, where a speeding Fortuner car hit five people near the Jharkhand BJP state office on Harmu Bypass Road, resulting in the deaths of three members of the same family.
