Giridih is now home to a brand-new shooting range, inaugurated at Kiran Public School, Koladiha. The opening coincided with the birthday celebration of school founder Ashok Kumar Singh, marking a significant expansion for the institution. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by the chief guest, Giridih Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Niraj Kumar Singh. He was joined by school chairman Ashok Kumar Singh, principal Raghav Bhokta, patron Syed Sabih Ashraf, club vice president Santosh Kumar Mishra, school director and Giridih District Rifle Association vice president Rajiv Ranjan Singh, and club secretary Ravi Kumar. DSP Singh lauded the establishment of the shooting range as a commendable initiative by the chairman, emphasizing its role in fostering disciplined and courageous citizens for society and the nation. School chairman Ashok Kumar Singh highlighted the importance of setting goals, drawing parallels between life objectives and the precision required in rifle shooting. He expressed the school’s commitment to equipping students with skills in rifle shooting and other weaponry, underscoring the significance of self-defense and national security. Following the inauguration, guests and students had the opportunity to try their hand at aiming. The successful execution of the event was supported by the dedicated efforts of teachers including Choti Rawani, Shikha Swarnima, Preeti Kumari, Neetu Sinha, and Panchanand Kumar.
