A shocking discovery was made Saturday morning in the Goilkera block of West Singhbhum district, where a newborn baby was found crying amidst bushes near Machhua Toli, behind the Girls School. Residents reported that a heartless mother had callously abandoned her infant in the dense foliage near a banyan tree. The cries of the baby alerted locals who rushed to the scene and discovered the helpless infant. Immediately, community members intervened, rescuing the child. Demonstrating remarkable humanity, Ramesh Bhuiyan and his wife, Sujata Bhuiyan, from the same locality, took the baby into their care, pledging to raise the child as their own. According to locals, the newborn was likely left in the bushes late Friday night. The Bhuiyan family is currently providing care for the infant. While local authorities have been informed of the incident, the whereabouts of the mother who abandoned the child remain unknown.
