Panic has gripped the area near the Bundu-Namkum border, close to Ranchi, following reports of a tiger or possibly a leopard in the Heso forest region of Lali Panchayat. Villagers reported on Monday that three cattle grazing in the forest were killed by a wild animal. Local representatives, including Aarti Kujur, along with a forest department team, visited the site to assess the situation.
The incident appears to be the work of a tiger or a similar predator. Claw marks and footprints were found at the scene, and the bodies of the cattle showed signs of attack. This has created an atmosphere of fear among the villagers. Aarti Kujur mentioned that villagers heard sounds resembling animal roars during the night, suggesting the animal responsible for the attacks. She advised residents to exercise caution and offered reassurance. Forest officials have also advised vigilance and increased patrolling in the area. Residents have been asked to avoid the forest after sunset and to graze their cattle in groups.
