Police placed on alert as protesters plan assembly sit‑in in August

The Special Branch of Jharkhand’s intelligence agency has issued a high‑alert directive to district commissioners, senior superintendents of police, superintendents of police, and railway police across the state.

Students protesting the exam irregularities have announced a plan to encircle the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly during its monsoon session on August 6. Organisers expect thousands of participants from multiple districts.

The alert is intended to help law‑enforcement manage any untoward incidents and maintain order during the assembly siege.

Ranchi City SP Parash Rana warned that while peaceful protest will not be suppressed, any violent turn will trigger immediate police action.
