A major sex racket was uncovered in the Lalpur police station area of Ranchi, Jharkhand, following a raid on a girls’ hostel. Acting on a tip-off, the Ranchi police, led by City DSP K.V. Raman, conducted a raid on the hostel, leading to the rescue of eight young women. The operation was launched after authorities received confidential information about the operation of a sex trafficking ring within the hostel premises. Investigations are underway to apprehend the main perpetrator of the racket, who remains at large. The rescued women were reportedly brought to the hostel from West Bengal and other locations to engage in illicit activities. The police are currently investigating the documents of the rescued girls.
