Affair Suspicion Leads to Ramgarh Murder Arrest, Police Say

Police in Ramgarh, Jharkhand, have arrested a husband and his sister-in-law after a woman was found dead in suspicious circumstances. Officers say the case stems from a secret relationship between the husband and the victim's younger sister, which had been causing frequent domestic fights.

The body of Jeba Parveen was discovered on the night of October 17 in the Rautta Roshan Nagar area of Kujju Outpost. Police reached the location, took the body into custody, and sent it for postmortem. A medical board oversaw the examination because of the sensitive nature of the case. Forensic investigators also collected essential evidence from the scene.

The circumstances raised doubts from the start, and police began examining the death as a homicide. The victim's family filed a first information report on October 18. Following instructions from the Ramgarh SP, a Special Investigation Team under the SDPO was set up to take the probe forward.

The SIT relied on technical data, evidence from the crime scene, and information gathered locally. The husband, Gulam Sarwar alias Rajan, became a suspect and was taken in for questioning. Police say he admitted to a relationship with Neha Parveen, the victim's younger sister. The victim had discovered the affair, which led to regular arguments between the couple.

According to investigators, the dispute flared again on October 17. The husband allegedly lost his temper, beat his wife, and banged her head against a wall. She fell to the ground, became unconscious, and died from the injury. The husband fled after her death.

Police have now arrested Gulam Sarwar alias Rajan and Neha Parveen. Officials say domestic conflict over the relationship was the motive. Further investigation and legal proceedings are in progress.
