Ranchi is set to host the prestigious 4th SAAF Senior Athletic Championship from October 24-26, 2025, at the Birsa Munda Football Stadium in Morabadi. The announcement came after a crucial meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri, who emphasized the importance of seamless organization for this international event. The championship, organized under the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAAF), will draw renowned international athletes, coaches, and technical officials from India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. The Deputy Commissioner outlined critical areas for preparation, including robust stadium security, efficient traffic management, comprehensive health services, accommodation, transportation, media coverage, and emergency protocols. He stressed that the championship would not only foster sports enthusiasm but also elevate Ranchi’s status as a global sports destination. All departmental coordination is expected to ensure any shortcomings are addressed promptly for the competition’s smooth execution.
