The Ghurti Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath is scheduled for July 6th. Today, Lord Jagannath, along with his siblings Balabhadra and Subhadra, will return to the main temple from Mausi Badi. Lord Jagannath had departed from the Shreemandir on a chariot on June 27th for a nine-day sojourn. The journey of Lord Jagannath’s return from Mausi Badi to the main temple is known as the Ghurti Rath Yatra. A large crowd of devotees gathers to pull the ropes of the Lord’s chariot on this day.
The district administration in Ranchi has completed its preparations for the Ghurti Rath Yatra. Considering the possibility of a large crowd, additional forces have been deployed in the city. In addition, the fair area is being monitored with the help of CCTV and drones. The fair will also conclude with the Ghurti Rath Yatra. The morning rituals at Mausi Badi began at 5 AM today. The darshan of the Lord at Mausi Badi will be closed around 2:50 PM. After this, the deities will be moved towards the chariot. The Rath Yatra will depart for the main temple at 4 PM. By 6:00 PM, all the deities will enter the main temple from the chariot. Before that, special darshan of the Lord on the chariot has been arranged for women from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The deities will be enshrined in the main temple by 7 PM today. After this, the Maha Aarti will be performed, and after offering special bhog, the doors of the temple will be closed.
