Sankat Tarini Puja was performed at various locations in Kharsawan on Tuesday. The main events took place at the Gundicha temple, Mausibari temple in Haribhanja, and other places. Women, in particular, observed the fast and performed the puja. Devotees offered 13 types of flowers, fruits, and prasad to Maa Tarini. A 13-hand-long thread was prepared and used during the puja, which the women then wore on their hands. Offerings were also made. Prasad was distributed among the devotees after the puja. It is believed that this puja helps Maa Tarini, the embodiment of power, to remove all kinds of troubles. For this reason, women observe the Tarini Vrat on the first Tuesday after the Rath Yatra. Besides the Gundicha temples, the puja of Maa Sankat Tarini was also performed at various Tarini Peeths. Many devotees also installed Kalash at their homes and performed the puja.
