On September 7th, a shooting in Ranchi, Jharkhand, resulted in the death of Ravi Kumar. Another individual, Rajballabh Gop, was injured in the incident, which took place in the Ratu police station area. Within 12 hours, police apprehended six individuals, including the main conspirator and shooters, due to diligent investigation based on technical analysis and local inquiries. The main accused, identified as Kunal Kumar, also known as Basant Yadav, orchestrated the crime. Other arrested individuals included Lal Mohan Prajapati, IMRoz Ansari, Bablu Yadav, Shrichand Prajapati alias Chandu, and Vijay Prajapati alias Kalu. The motive stemmed from a dispute between Kunal Kumar and his neighbor, Rajballabh Gop, concerning land dealings. After a physical altercation involving Kunal’s father and verbal abuse directed towards Kunal and his family, Kunal planned to seek revenge. He hired three individuals, who demanded protection money under the guise of TPC and Vikesh Tiwari, and offered them ₹5 lakh to murder Rajballabh Gop. The shooters, tasked with identifying Rajballabh, mistakenly shot Ravi Kumar, who was sitting next to the intended target while Rajballabh was wearing a white shirt, causing the confusion. Rajballabh Gop was also shot and injured during the attack. Weapons, a motorcycle, and a car used in the crime were confiscated.
