A para-teacher, Jamaluddin Ansari, sustained severe injuries after being shot by assailants near his home in Naudiha village, Chhatarpur police station area, Palamu. He was initially treated at MMC Hospital before being referred to Ranchi for advanced medical care. His family opted to admit him to a private hospital, Medanta, in Ranchi on Thursday, rather than the government-run RIMS. The projectile remains lodged in the teacher’s lungs, and as of Thursday morning, an operation was underway to remove it. Authorities are investigating a land dispute as the potential motive behind the attack. Ansari had reportedly informed the police about the ongoing disagreement concerning land transactions prior to the incident. In response, police have taken some individuals into custody for questioning as they work to piece together the events. Ansari was shot on Wednesday night while returning home from closing his grocery store. He was ambushed by two individuals near a concrete structure close to his residence, sustaining wounds to his right arm and abdomen. Initial treatment was provided at the Chhatarpur Sub-divisional Hospital, followed by a brief period at MMC Hospital, from where he was referred to Ranchi due to his critical condition. His daughter, who was present outside their home drinking tea at the time of the shooting, witnessed the assailants firing but could not identify them.
