PVSSE DAV Public School in Jhumritilaiya hosted a two-day capacity-building workshop on November 8-9, 2025, focused on strengthening assessment and evaluation methodologies. Organized under the aegis of the Central Board of Secondary Education, Patna region, the event aimed to equip educators with effective, transparent, and competency-based assessment techniques. A key objective was to align teaching-learning processes with the National Education Policy 2020, making them more meaningful. The workshop commenced with a lamp-lighting ceremony led by the school Principal and venue director, Krishan Kumar Singh. Esteemed resource persons including Chandan Kumar Dubey from Sainik School, Mukesh Kumar Prasad from Jharkhand Public School, and senior teachers Mousumi Mallik and Kumar Satish Singh were present. A welcome song by students set a harmonious and inspiring tone for the program. Principal Krishan Kumar Singh emphasized the evolving assessment landscape, fair appraisal techniques, and the pivotal role of teachers. A total of 58 educators participated, including teachers from DAV institutions and four from Jharkhand Public School. Participants were updated on new circulars, question paper creation standards, evaluation rubrics, activity-based learning, and the updated framework for classroom assessments. Through group discussions, quizzes, and hands-on activities, teachers delved into the transformative changes in evaluation processes. Resource persons highlighted the importance of student-centric, skill-based, and life-skill oriented assessments. The program concluded with a peace chant, followed by a vote of thanks presented by Kumar Satish Singh, expressing gratitude to the CBSE, resource persons, school management, participating teachers, and staff. Chandni Dubey managed the facilitation. Principal Krishan Kumar Singh remarked that this workshop is a significant step towards making teaching and assessment more holistic, skill-oriented, and learner-centric, in line with the vision of NEP 2020.
