In Dumka, Jharkhand, police have apprehended three individuals in connection with the gang-rape of a young woman. The victim, a stage performer, was lured under the pretext of a performance at a ‘Dandiya Night.’ The assailants threatened her with death if she revealed the incident. The police have taken the three accused into custody and initiated an investigation. The victim resides in a rented accommodation in Deoghar and works as a stage performer. On September 28, she received a call inviting her to perform at a Dandiya Night. Three men arrived in a white car to pick her up, driving her to Handi Hasdiha. Upon inquiring about the event, she was told that they would pick up more girls. Instead, they took her to a house where she discovered no event was planned. When she attempted to leave, they confined her to a room and subjected her to a gang-rape, also filming the act. The accused have been identified as Saurabh Kumar, Rajan Raj, and Paras Raj Yadav. The police have registered a case based on her complaint and are currently interrogating the suspects. The woman has been sent for a medical examination. She will be brought to court on Saturday to record her statement as the investigation continues.
