The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for heavy rainfall in at least eight districts of Jharkhand tomorrow. The IMD also forecasts thunderstorms and lightning in several districts. According to weather officials, the monsoon trough is currently passing through Daltonganj, which is expected to bring heavy rainfall to the western and southern parts of Jharkhand. The weather department has warned that Garhwa, Palamu, Latehar, Lohardaga, Gumla, Simdega, Khunti, and West Singhbhum districts may experience heavy rainfall and lightning. The forecast indicates that there will be no major change in the maximum temperature in Jharkhand for the next five days. On July 7, 2025, light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms is likely across almost all parts of the state. In the past 24 hours, Jamshedpur received 62.6 mm of rainfall, Ranchi 9.2 mm, Daltonganj 27.2 mm, Bokaro Thermal 9.6 mm, Chaibasa 4.1 mm, Khunti 1 mm, Garhwa and Saraikela 0.5 mm each, and Gumla 1.5 mm. From June 1 to July 6, 2025, Ranchi district has recorded the highest rainfall with 740.7 mm. Jamshedpur has received 702.7 mm, Daltonganj 342.3 mm, Bokaro Thermal 490.7 mm, and Chaibasa 528.6 mm. Jharkhand has received 69% more rainfall than normal, with 417.2 mm of rainfall compared to the normal 246.2 mm. The capital city, Ranchi, will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rainfall expected. The maximum temperature in Ranchi is expected to be 27 degrees Celsius and the minimum 24 degrees Celsius.
