In Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, a disturbing incident unfolded as traffic police officers were brutally assaulted. The incident occurred in broad daylight at the Kathal Morh area under the Nagri police station limits. A video of the assault, captured by a bystander, has gone viral on social media, showing the severity of the attack.
Reports indicate that three to four auto rickshaw drivers were responsible for the assault. The attackers allegedly used stones to attack the officers, with one officer, identified as Rohit Ganjhu, sustaining a serious head injury. He was rushed to the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) hospital in Ranchi for treatment.
The auto rickshaw drivers involved in the attack fled the scene and are currently being sought by the police. The Ranchi Traffic SP has vowed to take strict action against those responsible for the assault. The investigation into the incident is being led by the Nagri police station in-charge.
The viral video depicts the auto drivers aggressively attacking the traffic police officers. The officers are seen responding with batons, but the situation escalated when one of the officers was struck with a stone and fell to the ground.
