On the first day of the monsoon session, the Jharkhand Assembly paid tribute to various deceased individuals, including Dishom Guru Shibu Soren and former Education Minister Ramdas Soren. Speaker Rabindranath Mahto addressed the assembly, highlighting the passing of several prominent figures during the session. He described the death of Dishom Guru as the end of an era, while also acknowledging the political, social, and cultural consciousness he instilled in Jharkhand. Mahto emphasized Soren’s contributions to the state’s foundation. He also remembered Ramdas Soren as a prominent figure in Kolhan’s politics, known for his simplicity and social nature. The assembly also paid respects to Group Captain DK Parulkar, Padma Shri Vinod Kumar Pasayat, former Governor Satyapal Malik, and senior journalist Harinarayan Singh. Additionally, those who lost their lives in the cloudbursts in Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand were also remembered. The proceedings were adjourned until 11 a.m. on Monday.
