Police in the Sukhdevnagar police station area of Ranchi have recovered a large quantity of counterfeit currency from a bus stationed at the New Market bus stand. The seized notes are estimated to be worth two crore rupees. Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the case.
The operation was conducted under the leadership of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Prakash Soe, following the instructions of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Ranchi, Chandan Sinha. The police team acted on a tip-off that a significant amount of fake currency was being transported on a bus arriving from Patna.
Based on the information received by the SSP, a team was formed under the guidance of DSP Prakash Soe. The team conducted a raid at the bus stand early Saturday morning, where they discovered the counterfeit money in a box on the bus. The police are currently conducting further raids based on the interrogation of the arrested individuals. A car has also been seized in connection with the case.
