Security forces are continuously conducting search operations against Naxals with the aim of making Jharkhand Naxal-free. Palamu Police in Jharkhand received a tip-off regarding Shashikant Ganjhu, a commander of the Third Conference Presentation Committee (TSPC), who carries a bounty of 10 lakhs. Late Tuesday night, the police initiated a search operation in the Manatu police station area of Palamu district.
During the search operation, the Palamu police team reached the village of Kadel, where Commander Shashikant Ganjhu resides. He had come home to celebrate the Karma festival. The police surrounded his house, and an encounter ensued between the police and the Naxals. Three police personnel were shot in the encounter, of whom two were martyred. One injured जवान is receiving treatment at Mediniray Medical College and Hospital.
