The situation worsened when he allegedly took another local girl into his home under a traditional "dhuku" arrangement, fueling a bitter dispute with his former partner, who repeatedly demanded marriage and child‑support.

According to the timeline released by police, the pregnant woman visited Odeya's house on 2 September to discuss her demands. She was reported missing on 4 September, and her family launched a frantic search that ended with the grim discovery of her body in the forest.
