In the Shikharipara police station area of Dumka district, Jharkhand, a man’s tongue was bitten off in an incident that has caused shock. The incident reportedly occurred after a minor dispute between the individuals involved. The victim’s wife has filed a complaint at the local police station, naming one woman and several others. Police have taken the accused woman into custody and initiated an investigation.
According to information received, Jelenur Bibi, a resident of the Shikharipara police station area, reported that her husband, Laltu Sheikh, had his tongue bitten off. In her complaint, she stated that Kalavati Murmu, her husband, and others had brutally attacked her husband, resulting in the tongue being severed. The police have taken Murmu into custody and are investigating the entire matter.
Laltu Sheikh’s wife, Jelenur Bibi, reported that her husband had gone to Ganpura Chowk on Tuesday night but did not return home. His family members began searching for him. Late at night, Laltu Sheikh returned home covered in blood, and using gestures, indicated to his family that Kalavati Murmu and others had brutally cut off his tongue.
According to villagers, the victim is addicted to alcohol, and it is suspected that he might have gone to the house of Kalavati Murmu to drink, where a dispute over money likely arose. In this dispute, the woman became enraged and committed the violent act. The police are investigating the entire incident, considering all possible angles.
