The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for several districts in Jharkhand today, anticipating heavy rainfall. Light showers are expected in the capital city of Ranchi, for which no alert has been issued. The weather department has issued a yellow alert for heavy rainfall in Garhwa, Chatra, Palamu, Latehar, Deoghar, Giridih, Dhanbad, Jamtara, Dumka, Godda, Sahibganj, and Pakur. Strong winds and lightning strikes are also possible in some areas. According to the Meteorological Department, a cyclone in Bengal and Bihar is active, which is expected to cause heavy rainfall in these areas in the next 24 hours. Rainfall is expected in Ranchi on August 8.
