A parliamentarian from Bihar, Kali Prasad Pandey, rose from the village of Ramjita in Gopalganj to become a figure known worldwide as a Robin Hood. His life was so impactful that the 1987 film ‘Pratighat’ was reportedly based on his life. He was even considered a guru by the infamous strongman, Shahabuddin. Born on October 28, 1946, in the Kuchaykot block of Gopalganj district, Kali Prasad Pandey passed away on August 22 in New Delhi. Despite his prolonged illness, his legacy continues to be discussed, with many recounting tales of his generosity and influence. Whether in Gopalganj or Delhi, it was said that no one ever left Kali Pandey’s door empty-handed.
