Kalkaaji Assault Probe: One Arrest Made, Two Others Questioned

In a developing case from South Delhi’s Kalkaaji neighborhood, police have arrested a man named Asif in connection with a gang‑rape of a minor that occurred on Monday evening. The assault was reported to have taken place at Astha Kunj Park, near the Kalkaaji Temple.

The victim, a 17‑year‑old girl from Faridabad, arrived at the park with a teenage companion. According to her account, three men claiming to be police officials approached them, used legal‑sounding language, and threatened them before the men allegedly seized the boy and assaulted the girl.

Following a distress call to the Police Control Room, officers initiated a medical examination of the minor, which has now been completed. The investigation led to an encounter on Tuesday morning, culminating in Asif’s arrest.

Two additional suspects, named Hemant and his brother, are currently under questioning. Hemant is said to be pursuing law studies, while his sibling is a Bachelor of Science student. Police officials declined to reveal the brother’s full identity.

Investigators emphasized that the case remains under active scrutiny and that further actions, including possible arrests, could follow as evidence is gathered. The department reaffirmed its dedication to a thorough, impartial investigation.
