A father in Kanpur’s Barra 8 area initiated a public protest following a distressing incident where his daughter fell into a water-filled pothole while on her way to school. The event, which occurred near Ram Gopal Chowk, brought attention to the dilapidated state of roads in the area, particularly exacerbated by the rainy season. The father, deeply affected by his daughter’s ordeal, adopted a unique form of protest. He arrived at the site with a mat and pillow and lay down in the muddy water, aiming to highlight the civic negligence. Passersby were surprised, and traffic slowed as people gathered to witness the unusual demonstration. The father emphasized that the protest was born out of necessity, driven by the daily suffering of children and the lack of road repairs despite numerous complaints. Protesters were also heard chanting the slogan “Bharat Mata Ki Jai.”
