Karnataka Congress MLA Basavaraju V Shivaganga asserted on Saturday that Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar will become the state’s Chief Minister after December. Shivakumar, who also serves as the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President, has labeled Shivaganga’s statement a violation of party discipline, indicating that a notice would be issued. Shivaganga, the MLA from Channagiri, made the statement in Davanagere, claiming Shivakumar’s ascension to the CM post post-December.
The MLA has previously made similar pronouncements regarding a change in the Chief Minister’s position, suggesting Shivakumar would assume the role in the near future.
